COMMUNICATIONS
a. Request approval of the Board of Trustee Minutes dated
February 28, 2000.
b. Request authorization for Richard
Holdener, Donald K. Rowan, Michael Smith, Kevin Noll, Raymond
Straub, and Joe Madigan to
attend the 2000 National Hurricane Conference in Louisiana, on
April 16-21, 2000, for an approximate cost of $l,400.00 per
person.
2. VILLAGE CLERK - Anna Knoeller
a. Written notification of a defective, unsafe, dangerous or
obstructed condition in connection with a sidewalk was received at

The Department of Public Works was notified and upon receipt of
their inspection report, the necessary action was taken to correct
all conditions deemed to be dangerous.
3. AUDITOR — Thomas J. Preston
a. Request authorization for Thomas Preston to attend the
annual conference of the New York State Government Finance
Officers Association in Albany, New York on March 21 — 24, 2000 at an approximate cost of $800.00 plus
transportation, and further request to use a Village vehicle.
4. PUBLIC WORKS - Louis DiGrazia
a. Recommend to accept the contract from Soundview Construction
cl/b/a as Island Nursery for the"1998 Tree Planting
Program" at a final cost $247,434.00, with a retainage to be
released upon Village Board of Trustees accepting this contract.
b. Request authorization to advertise a Notice to Bidders in
the Leader and other -277relevant publications of general
circulation on March 16, 2000 for purchase of Scoreboards for
North East and Glacken Parks with a returnable date of April 4,
2000.
c. Request permission to advertise for proposals for
engineering and architectural services in the Freeport Leader and
other relevant publications of general circulation for " Architectural Services for Firehouse Extension"
project.

a. Request authorization for Keith Nicholson and William Mello
to attend the 13th Annual Hudson Valley Code Enforcement Officials Educational
Conference on May 3-5, 2000 in Fishkill, New York for an

b. Request authorization for Mayor William Glacken to attend the
International Council of Shopping Centers in Albany, New York on April
4-5, 2000 at an approximate cost of $400.00.
2. ASSESSOR — Bernadine Quinton
a. Request permission to add a disabled veteran’s exemption (code
41141) to Section 54, Block 490, Lot 17 (192 Wilson Place) in
the amount of $5,650.00 on the 2000/0 1 final roll and issue a
corrected tax bill.
b. Request permission to add a senior citizen exemption (code

Kelly
a. Request to award bid for Commercial Façade Rehabilitation
Project, 40-54 West Merrick Road & 80-8 8 Church Street, to
Talty Construction, Inc., 108 Powell Avenue, Rockville Centre, New
York, in the amount of $255,000.00.
b. Request to award the commercial façade rehabilitation grant for
40-54 West Merrick Road/8O-88 Church Street to Wash & Shop
Laundromat, Ltd., in the amount of $129,350.00.
3. PUBLIC WORKS - Louis DiGrazia
a. Request to accept the contract from Nelson & Pope, LLP, 572

Information Technology Training Workshop held on May 1-2, 2000 in

Continuation of a Public Hearing to consider a local law to amend
Chapter 180 of the Code of the Incorporated Village of Freeport, New
York, Entitled "Streets and Sidewalks" by repealing Section
180-3, entitled "Use Of Sidewalks By Merchants: Shopping
Carts" and by adopting a new Section 180-3, entitled "Use Of
Sidewalks By Merchants: and by amending Chapter 155 entitled
"Peace And Good Order" by adopting a new Article VII
entitled "Shopping Carts". (As amended at the prior hearing
on February 28, 2000 and as re-advertised.)

1. COMMUNICATIONS
a. Request approval of
Board of Trustees Minutes dated March 20, 2000.
b. Request approval of the
1999 Service Award Program Firefighter Records and further request
approval to post records for thirty days.
2. VILLAGE COUNSEL - Harrison
J. Edwards
a. Request Vehicle and
Traffic Regulations be amended as follows: Sec. 4 — Removal of vehicle
at owner’s expense — Delete: (a) Authority — Any vehicle parked in
violation of Sec. 2, 3, or 49 hereof shall be removed by Police Chief,
(b) Storage charges — After such removal, Police Chief may store
vehicle in suitable place at expense of owner. Such owner, or person in
charge of vehicle, may redeem same upon payment to Village Clerk of the
amount of all expenses actually and necessarily incurred in affecting
such removal; such charges shall not exceed $25.00 for towing and $2.00
per day or fraction thereof for storage; and (c) Notification of owner
— Police Chief shall ascertain owner of such vehicle or person having
charge of same and notify him of disposition of such vehicle and amount
which will be required to redeem same. Add: (d) Authority -. Any vehicle
parked in violation of Sec. 2, 3, or 49 hereof shall be removed by
