COMMUNICATIONS
a. Request approval of the Board of Trustee Minutes dated March 27,
2000 and April 3, 2000.
b. Request from Freeport Chamber of Commerce to hang a banner for the
upcoming Boat Show at Main Street and Mill Road and at Guy Lombardo
Avenue and Front Street from April 11 — April
30, 2000; and further request the Electric Department assist in the
hanging of these banners.
c. Request from Our Holy Redeemer Church to hold a procession, April
21, 2000, 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm, beginning on S. Ocean Ave. & Pine
St., going west on Pine St. to S. Long Beach Ave., south on S. Long
Beach Ave. to Smith St., east on Smith St. to Guy Lombardo Ave., North
on Guy Lombardo Ave. to small side street behind Word of Life Church
east to Church St., north on Church St. to Pine St., west on Pine St. to
S. Ocean Ave., and further request approval for Police Department
overtime in the amount of $1,600.00.
2. VILLAGE COUNSEL Harrison J. Edwards
a. Request Vehicle and Traffic Regulations be amended as follows:
Section 28 — Stop sign at
crosswalks on main arteries of travel — ADD:
MAIN ARTERY (2) Woodcleft Avenue CROSSWALK AREA (1) 230 feet south of
Hamilton Street.
b. Request Vehicle and Traffic Regulations be amended as follows:
Section 41 — Parking prohibited at
all times unless otherwise designated. No person shall park a vehicle
within the designated areas in the following streets at any time, or at
the times otherwise indicated. ADD: Bayview Avenue, South, west side,
beginning at the southerly curb line of Porterfield Place and continuing
for a distance of 140 feet in a southerly direction.
c. Request approval of the contract agreement with the County of
Nassau Traffic Safety Board for participation in the STOP-DWI Program
for the calendar year 2000; and further request the Mayor be authorized
to sign any and all documents necessary to effectuate this agreement.
3. VILLAGE CLERK Anna Knoeller
a. Request approval of miscellaneous sidewalk resolutions to Armond
Cement Contracting Co., Inc. for a total cost of $16, 287.05.
b. Written notification of a defective, unsafe, dangerous or
obstructed condition in connection with a village sidewalk 41 Atlantic
Avenue, 208, 209, 210, 211, 212, 214, 215, 217, 241 Bedell Street, 42,
50 Ray Street and 105 Denhoff Place was received. The Department of
Public Works was notified and upon receipt of their inspection report,
the necessary action will be taken to correct all conditions deemed to
be dangerous.
4. PUBLIC WORKS Louis DiGrazia
a. Request authorization to advertise a Notice to Bidders in the
Leader and other relevant publications of general circulation on April
20, 2000 for the contract South Bayview Avenue/ South Brookside Avenue/
West Second Street Road Improvement Project with a returnable date of
May 9, 2000.
b. Recommend the contract Furnishing of Two Baseball/Softball
Scoreboards be awarded to Electro-Mech Scoreboard Co., 3 Industrial
Parkway, Wrightsville, GA 31096 for a total cost of $26,236.00.
5. ELECTRIC Hubert M. Bianco
a. Request authorization for Hubert Bianco to attend the Municipal
Electric Utilities Association of New York State Semi-Annual Conference,
in Liverpool, New York on April 18-19, 2000 and further request the
Village designate Hubert Bianco to represent and vote for the Village of
Freeport.
6. BUILDING DEPARTMENT Joseph M. Madigan
a. Request to accept Contract 99-09-BLDG-008, 249 Sportsman Avenue at
a final cost of $75,000.00 with the retainage to be released upon the
Village Board of Trustees accepting this contract.
b. Request to accept Contract 99-04-BLDG-021, 285 Arthur Street at a
final cost of $88,932.50 with the retainage to be released upon the
Village Board of Trustees accepting this contract.
c. Request to accept Contract 99-09-BLDG-001, 839 S. Long Beach
Avenue at a final cost of $60,500.00 with the retainage to be released
upon the Village Board of Trustees accepting this contract.
7. BUDGET AND PROCUREMENT Teresa Baldinucci
a. Request resolution to transfer funds in the 1999-2000 budget to
various accounts and further that the Comptroller and Budget Director be
authorized to effectuate same.
8. POLICE Michael E. Woodward
a. Request authorization for Detective Fidel Balan to attend the
Northeast Law Enforcement Officers Association seminar "Practical
Homicide Investigation" from May 15-17, 2000 in Warwick, Rhode
Island for an approximate cost of $430.00 plus expenses.

COMMUNICATIONS
a. Request approval of Board of
Trustees Minutes dated April 10, 2000.
2. VILLAGE CLERK - Anna Knoeller
a. Written notification of a
defective, unsafe, dangerous or obstructed condition in connection
with a village sidewalk at 235, 241 Pine Street and 9 1-93
Lincoln Place was received. The Department of Public Works was
notified and upon receipt of their inspection report, the necessary
action will be taken to correct all conditions deemed to be dangerous.
3. TREASURER - Vilma I. Lancaster
a. Request permission for Frances Curd
and Vilma I. Lancaster to attend the System & Software User
Conference Forum II in Burlington, Vermont from May 2 —
5, 2000 for an approximate cost of $800.00 plus travel
expenses.
4. PUBLIC WORKS - Louis DiGrazia
a. Request to accept the contract
"1998-99 Tree Removal Program" at a final cost of $55,085.00
with the retainage to be released upon Village Board of Trustees
accepting this contract.
b. Request resolution to authorize
sale of $1,200,000.00 serial bonds authorizing the construction,
reconstruction and widening of various highways, roads and streets.
5. ELECTRIC - Hubert M. Bianco
a. Request approval for Robert
Kortright and Robert Smith to attend the Reliability Compliance
Workshop in Latham, New York on April 27, 2000 for an approximate cost
of $300.00.
6. BUDGET AND PROCUREMENT - Teresa
Baldinucci
a. Request to award bid Police Officer
& Dispatchers Uniforms 2000-200 1 to Standard Law Enforcement
Supply Co., 190 Mineola Avenue, Roslyn Heights, NY 11577 in the
amount of $23,072.30.
7. FIRE DEPARTMENT - Anthony Fiore
a. Request the Board appoint the
following individuals to their respective positions; Chief - Paul
Hashagen, 1st Asst. Chief - Paul Russer, 2nd Asst. Chief - John
Wensley, 3rd. Asst. Chief - James Butler, Battalion Delegate 3 years -
James Olin, Alternate Battalion Delegate - Julius Ellison.
