22, 2001
1. COMMUNICATIONS
a. Request approval of Board of Trustees Minutes dated December 18,
2000, January 3, 2001, January 8,2001 and January 10, 2001.
2. VILLAGE CLERK - Anna Knoeller
a. Request authorization for Anna Knoeller and Carolyn Thomas to
attend the NYCOM Village Election Workshop, in Plainview, New York,
January 17, 2001, at a cost of $25.00 per person.
b. Written notification of a defective, unsafe, dangerous, or
obstructed condition in connection with a village sidewalk at 75
Prince Avenue and 319 West Sunrise Highway was received. The
Department of Public Works was notified and upon receipt of their
inspection report, the necessary action will be taken to correct all
conditions deemed to be dangerous.
c. Request authorization for Susan Lyons to attend the New York
Zoning and Land Use seminar on March 22, 2001, in Cane Place, New
York, at an estimated cost of $279.00, plus expenses.
3. VILLAGE COUNSEL - Harrison J. Edwards
a. Request to amend Vehicle and Traffic Regulations as follows:
Sec. 23 — Stop streets at main arteries of
travel. ADD: Roosevelt Avenue, Intersecting Street —
Archer Street.
b. Request to amend Vehicle and Traffic Regulations as follows:
Sec. 28 — Stop sign at crosswalks on main
arteries of travel: ADD: Parsons Avenue — Westbound
only — 450 feet west of Weberfield Avenue
and Parsons Avenue — Eastbound only —
356 feet east of Frederick Avenue.
c. Request to set a public hearing to consider Gardeners and
Landscapers Proposed Local Law.
4. ELECTRIC UTILITIES - Hubert Bianco
a. Request authorization for Hubert Bianco to attend the American
Public Power Association CEO Roundtable, March 4-6, 2001, in
Scottsdale, Arizona, at a cost of $895.00 plus expenses.
b. Request authorization for Peter Reinke, Sr. to attend the 11th
Annual Diesel Generation Workshop, February 13-14, 2001,
in Fairmont and Blue Earth, Minnesota, at an estimated cost of
$185.00, plus expenses.
c. Request authorization for Oliver Carman to attend the MEUA
Engineering Workshop, in Liverpool, New York, February 7-8, 2001, at
an estimated cost of $75.00, plus expenses.
d. Request authorization for Fran Curd, Marlyn Days, Betty Gerald,
Patrice Gianaca, Vilma Lancaster, and Thomas Preston to attend Systems
& Software User Conference — Forum I,
February 8-9, 2001, in Colchester, Vermont, at an approximate cost of
$400.00 per person, plus expenses.
5. PUBLIC WORKS - Louis DiGrazia
a. Request to award contract "Furnishing of Fire Hydrants and
Gate Valves" to T. MS Supply Inc., 15 Fairchild Court, Plainview,
New York, in the amount of $28,152.47 total bid for Contract #1 and in
the amount of $40,591.75 total bid for Contract #2.
b. Request to accept proposal from Cashin Associates. P.C., 1200
Veterans Memorial Highway, Hauppauge, New York, to provide engineering
services for the Public Works Department for evaluation of options for
new sanitation contract, at a cost not to exceed $16,640.00.
c. Request authorization for Richard Keatley to attend the Atlantic
Nurseries Winter Seminar, in Hempstead, New York, February 14, 2001,
at an approximate cost of $80.00.
d. Request to advertise for bids in the Leader and other relevant
publications of general circulation for Extension of Excelsior Hook
& Ladder Fire Department Quarters on February 1, 2001, with a
returnable date of February 20, 2001.
e. Request to advertise for bids in the Leader and other relevant
publications of general circulation for Renovations to the Freeport
Police Communications Area on February 1, 2001, with a returnable date
of February 20, 2001.
f. Request to advertise for bids in the Leader and other relevant
publications of general circulation for Window Replacement at Village
Hall on February 1, 2001, with a returnable date of February 20, 2001.
g. Request to advertise for bids on January 25, 2001in the Leader
and other relevant publications of general circulation for Towing of

a. Request resolution that the offer in the amount of $10,000.00 be
accepted as full payment regarding the claim against Olga L. Sanchez,
for Bill #L1478, for the sum of $13,290.24, for damage to two
telephone poles.
3. BUILDING DEPARTMENT — Joseph Madigan
a. Request to accept the contract of J. Cole Construction Co.,
Inc., 2704 Grand Avenue, Bellmore, New York, for Contract
99-04-BLDG-01 8, for the elevation of a residential home at 498
Roosevelt Avenue, in the sum of $66,800.96.
4. POLICE DEPARTMENT — Michael Woodward
a. Request authorization for expenses for Michael Woodward to
attend National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Jimmy Ryce
