Freeport NY, May 16, 2000
In a stunning upset, Sunday F. Coward defeated Joyce Lisi in the race for
School Trustee by a mere seventy-five votes. After the results were
announced, the newly elected Trustee could barely contain herself as she
thanked her supporters. She said, "I couldn't have done it without
the help of my loyal campaign staff, who represented all corners of the
community. I look forward to working with everybody to put the Freeport
schools back on top."
The Freeport school district budget passed along
with the Board's thirty-five million dollar building Bond. Also passing
was the Freeport Library budget.
