That the Board of Education of the Freeport Union Free School District for the benefit of the taxpayers, personnel and particularly the children of the Freeport Union Free School District, after receiving input from the community, in order to find the most qualified person, contact the New York State School Boards Association to reopen the search process for the Superintendent of Schools. The NYS School Boards Association, in order to expand the level of participation, is hereby directed to search this entire great nation, and present to the School Board and to the people of Freeport, the ten most qualified candidates.

In respect and recognition of the efforts and accomplishments of the two finalists of the prior search, Ms. Josephine Nelson Moffett and Dr. John Koster, it is hereby resolved that they be considered as additional finalists, should they so advise the Board.

The Board of Education of the Freeport Union Free School District, in order to move this district into the future with a clean slate and a new openness and level of community involvement, hereby rescinds the resolution of June 19, 1996, appointing Ms. Josephine Nelson Moffett as Superintendent of the Freeport Union Free School District.
