The
Long Island Arts Council At Freeport is holding its Annual
Juried Photography Show this month in the main lobby of the
Freeport Memorial Library. The Art Council’s director, Marnie
Katzman, told FNYN that this is one of the most popular
photography shows on Long Island.
This year’s best in show went
to Lawrence Ruderman for his photo Tractors and
Barn.
Ruderman explained that he took the photo in the early 90’s
while on a trip to photograph a balloon festival in Vermont. He
said that the photo was scanned into a computer and was pretty
much the same as it was taken, except for the enhancement of the
red. When Ruderman was asked about his Best In Show, he said,
"I entered three photos in the show. I hoped I would get
something."
Ruderman said the photo was
taken with a point and shoot Olympus XA1. If you have any
questions about the photo, Mr. Ruderman can be reached at larsapli@aol.com.
