Three days after the Freeport shooting, the crime scene barrier tape flutters in the breeze.
This idyllic scence at Freeport's Glacken Park exploded with violence on the night of February 11, 2003, when a young man was shot in the face while sitting in a car. The shooting appeared to be another gang related shooting. Three days after the shooting, the blood was still running red at Glacken Park, as Freeport's insensitive Mayor, William F. Glacken, still hadn't ordered a clean up of the mess. Glass from the blown out windshield can be seen in the foreground. The victims blood oozes into the street. A grim reminder of the violence and insensitivity of Freeport's Mayor, who claims Freeport's gang problems are like those in the North Shore Community of Great Neck.
